More about me!

Here is insight to me!  I have copied this idea from another friend, I thought it was a quick and clever idea.  I have taken a photo of the things that sit on my kitchen window sill.

my kitchen window sill

The silver tins are pencil holders that I bought at ‘The Reject Shop’, I have been to these landmarks.  I like to think I could be called a ‘Cherub’ at times, but I feel like a ‘Witch’ more often than not.  Just joking!  I have two ‘Pepper Pots’ from a visit to Sarawak, a state of Malaysia.  One pot holds white pepper and the other holds black.  I LOVE pepper on my food!  I have to control myself when I walk past a McDonald’s restaurant, as I love to sneak their pepper sachets so I have a supply of them in each handbag.  DH does not like me taking them BUT he always wants me to share them.

Then there is my toothpick holder.  I hate it though when people pick their teeth in public, I think it is bad manners.  Anyone agree?  My new collection craze is ‘Scarecrows’, but I only like cute ones.

The incense burner thing has a Hindu Ganesha god on it that I find interesting.  I am still not sure where I stand on religion.  I try to take the best bits of them all and I do not judge one better than another.

I LOVE kookaburras, their sound, their colour and their patience for getting food.  I have a funny story there about a steak flying off a plate!  The three white squares are actually magnets but they represent the game of ‘Mah Jong’ that I really enjoy playing.  I do not mean the tile matching game on the computer, I mean the PROPER game at a table with two or three other players.

Comment on my cooking needs no explanation, ‘Eat my food or go Hungry’.  Love the elephant, I have been fortunate to have had a few rides.

And last is my ‘Old Chinese Man’.  He should have two mates with him but he doesn’t.  Long story about that, maybe I will tell you later.

Did you know that………

the fear of Friday the 13th is called paraskavedekatriaphobia………..

You are a collector of things. One day you will be drowning in things, cute as they are.
I have things. I like my things. I no longer buy things because I am drowning in things.

If you can collect things and keep them on display (and dusted I’m assuming!) then you’re doing ok. I’m totally useless with displaying stuff, so i try not to buy things anymore too.

Thank you both for calling them THINGS, as I know it is all junk, but they are my treasures! Nothing over $4.00!

It’s the heart that counts not the wallet.

I agree! In Bali mum and I were getting a lot of taxis because of the heat, the ride was less than a dollar! We were giving the guys 4 or 5 dollars each because we could. That was better than any THING we could buy! Owning lots of THINGS doesn’t mean that you are having a life.

If a thing costs little and you love it ( a thing ) it can still be a treasure on display. That’s what I meant, but I love your reply and agree totally with that as well.
